Join MemoriesWe are still reeling from the sudden death of Michael Alan Pellico. Mike was our brother, our uncle, our friend, our leader and a generous person. Born January 17, 1946, in Chicago, Mike was the leader of what would be eleven siblings. He was our mischievous “Mikie,” carrying snakes into the house to show our mother and explaining how they ‘foll...
Marc Lumer In my memory, Mikey and his house will always be associated with the joy of my first in-person creative meeting after two years of Covid seclusion, only meeting people on zoom. It was a freeing experience and this meeting, the first of many, was fun, creative, stimulating, generous and warm. All the wonderful qualities Mikey exuded. The door wasn’t locked, and people kept on walking in and out that Sunday morning to say hi and give Mikey a hug. Mikey was the ultimate renaissance man, an uncensored intellect that went in every direction, but contrary to many with his level of brilliance in success, he was also simple, humble and had managed to keep a childlike outlook on life. He was a positive influence on so many people in the life of the party. I'm sad I met him so late in life, but grateful of the path, even short as it was, we took together. I'll miss his texts and calls to share his latest idea, the must-read books he recommended and our heated debates about religion, philosophy and creativity. So long my friend!

Emmanuel Pappas Mikey, my dear friend, how your presence is missed in our lives everyday but the beautiful and memorable times we shared together over the years remain precious to us. We cherished your friendship, creativity, wise and kind words. You always supported and uplifted anyone you interacted with. Words are not enough to convey how much our time and journey together, in work and friendship, impacted our lives. Always excited about the projects we created and were creating together. We miss our weekly Sunday breakfasts with you.

I only heard about his death a week ago, and am shocked that this dynamo has passed. I got to know Mike when he appeared on my podcast last year--talking about his books. Shortly after we recorded the show, he asked me to take a look at his next film idea. Long story short, he liked my ideas and hired me to write the treatment and (if it sold) the ...
