Mekha was such a fun loving and caring person. She was always laughing and willing to help out others. I first met Mekha at a PD and she immediately jumped in to help me. I emailed her often, and she always gave me a whole hearted response. The world would be a better place if it was filled with people like Mekha and instead we have lost the on...

We had only seen each other during trainings, but her smile and energy was contagious. Her name was one that everyone in the Mastery community had heard due to her dedication to her students and being a champion for education. I can tell that she touched the lives of everyone around her. Her impact was appreciated and her presence will be greatly...

I met Mekha just over a year ago at the Wheatley Institute when I first joined Mastery. I was in awe of her during her annotation session and use the emojis all the time. When I found out she was my Camden teacher leader, I felt like a kid at Christmas. She quickly became my rock in all thing Wheatley, Mastery, and life. Since her passing, I ha...

Mekha was a beautiful soul. Her spirit shined brightly throughout our entire school. She was literally every students favorite, parents too. She was an incredible friend, colleague and mentor to me. Thank you Mekha for everything you were and I hope to shine on in your memory. RIP <3

Mekha made a huge impact on me from the very moment we met. As an educator, she brought a level of thoughtfulness and care to her practice that prompted me to work day in and day out to rise up and met high bar she set. As a person, she brought a warmth of spirit to every interaction, instantly setting those around her at ease. Her loss is truly im...

I had the pleasure of meeting Mekha just once at the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year at our first Central PD. I was placed in a break-out room with fellow 4th-grade educators, and immediately I was able to recognize the amount of knowledge and insight Mekha possessed. She helped me tremendously with working through our module internalization...

Jeremy Bell Hairston will always live on in my classroom. She was an amazing teacher and I truly pray that she knew how miuch she was loved and how many people admired her for the work she did. She was an amazing grade team partner and I wouldn't be half the teacher I am without her support and encouragement. It does my heart glad to know she is in a better place and that her legacy will continue. Thank you for all of your lovely words. She would have been overjoyed to receive such outpouring of love. Remember her in everything you do moving forward in your teaching professions...and be joyful ALWAYS!!!

You were my first grade partner at WPACES along with Jenn Johnson and Joy Brouwers (who have all transitioned to Mastery lol). You were an excellent teacher and a wonderful friend! You are and will forever be greatly missed!

I didn't know Mekha personally, but I have attended a number of PDs with her and I can say that she was very vocal, and I learned something from her every single time I attended a meeting. Her voice was always present in the meetings, and she was a great asset to the Mastery team. I know that her presence will live on and she will be missed!

I remember when I first started teaching at Mastery and we had to attend a daunting PD with all the schools in the network. As a newcomer and an introvert I was completely out of my element. Mekha introduced herself to me and the warmth that radiated from her entire being was so genuine and rare that I instantly felt welcomed and safe. Mekha repres...
