    With the heaviest of hearts, we wanted to let you know that after a long, productive and adventurous life, Mary E. Henley (our Mother, "Nannie") passed-away peacefully with Family by her side and only two weeks shy of her 98th Birthday. She was lovingly cared for and comforted by her eldest son Tom and his Family for several years prior to her passing and to whom we all owe a great debt of gratit... more

    Michael Henley Born in Birmingham, England May 13, 1924 Mary Elizabeth Wright was preceded in death by her three brothers John, Peter, and David and her husband Thomas E. Henley. Here, Mary is riding with her brother, (Uncle Pete) at the beach in 1928.

    Michael Henley Mary was the third child born to Beatrice and Thomas Wright (shown here in 1944).

    Michael Henley While attending a local adult Spanish class in South Pasadena, Mary met, began her romance, and later married Thomas E. Henley (Dad) in a small ceremony at Grandpa's ranch in San Dimas, California.

    Michael Henley Mary and Tom bought their first home in Huntington Beach before resettling in Pasadena, California.

    Michael Henley Mary and several of her nursing colleagues began to develop a knowledge-sharing forum for school nurses around the world. It would become known as School Nurses International. www.schoolnursesinternational.com

    Michael Henley Since then, Mary and SNI have organized and attended bi-annual conferences throughout the world which continues as part of her legacy.

    Michael Henley Tom (Dad) passes-away in April and Mary welcomes her first grandchild, Lauren in July.

    Michael Henley Mary retires as Health Services Coordinator of Mountain View School District.
