Louise Woolf Pollock, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Louise retained her kindness, resilient spirit, and sense of humor through her long struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease. The twinkle in her bright blue eyes was a gift that never left her. Louise Woolf was born July 29, 1942, in Vancouver, Washington, where she lived through her teen years. As a child she enjoyed rowdy card games with h... more

Lenny Pezzano Meeting Louise and Walt 13 years ago was one of the treasures of the Eagle Harbour Condominiums that we didn’t realize would be one of the unknown jewels of the complex. From the moment we first met Louise and her husband Walt, we knew we were meeting some very special people and one of the loveliest ladies we’ve ever known. They graciously shared their lives with us, let us use their wonderful “fishing cottage” as they called it, in Pacific City, and shared with us their wonderful knowledge and experiences of Kauai when we visited there four years ago. Attached is one of our favorites pictures of this wonderful couple when we were visiting them in Kauai. Charles Schulz says it best: “Perhaps they are not stars in the sky but rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy.” Charlie Brown Lenny & Roger

Chris Pollock Atherton At the end of life, what really matters is not what we bought but what we built; not what we got but what we shared; not our competence but our character; and not our success, but our significance. Live a life that matters. Live a life of love. This reminds of us Weeze. She lived a life that matters. She lived a life of Love. The Atherton's

I first met Louise in the 2nd grade, at Lincoln Grade School. From the first time I met Louise she has always been a wonderful friend. We had lots of laughs and memories together. Camping with my family, going to Seaside and staying with Louise's Aunt and staying at the YWCA in downtown Seattle, when Ft Vancouver made it to State in Basketball....
Mary Williamson Louise was the kindest sweetest person I’ve had the privilege to know and love. These are just a few of the special times we’ve shared over the years. I will miss you my dear sweet friend❤️
Ed Sienkiewicz Remembering Louise from her winemaking days. We pray for peace and comfort for the Pollock family. Roxanne and Ed
Sabina Wohlfeiler Louise lives on in all of our memories. Her sweet smile, her easy elegance and her ability to sense what is needed are my strongest images of her. When I was feeling vulnerable, she reached into my heart with compassion, understanding and just the right words. A true and precious friend.
We were fortunate enough to move in next door to Weeze and Walt when we came to Portland in 2012. Weeze really did sparkle with that eye-twinkle, and she was ALWAYS sweet and caring. We especially enjoyed bird watching with her and Walt when they took us along with them on trips to local nature sites. We have missed her ever since they moved awa...
Kay Ringel Kay Menaul and Louise probably about 1955-56 on 44th Street. My dear friend for 72 years❤️
Dave PIPER@CCGMAIL.NET There are so many wonderful memories that I hardly have one to focus on but my immediate flash was a birthday party for one of our kids (maybe the first year BD) at Pollock's. Louise had, of course, made a great cake with plenty of frosting and the birthday kid got it everywhere. Louise, in typical fashion, took the mess in stride and really enjoyed it. I also consider myself blessed to have spent time in Hawaii a few years back with Walt and Louise. It was a special time to enjoy Louise and realize that the disease was going to be inevitable. Again, it's the memories that we have and share that sustain us. God Bless You, Louise.
Oh, Walt my good friend. You are a shining example of what a spouse should be. Its looks like you lived your lives with adventure! You were both blessed to have each other. Memories are strong and last though time. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Stay strong, Best Always, Jim

Ginger Pollock Louise was my sister-in-law who I loved dearly. I was blessed to be in her life for 46 years. She was the kindest person I have ever known. I am so happy we got to live so close to her on Bainbridge Island these past 3 years. I will miss her so much & I know that her bright star will shine down on me always. I love you dear sister❤️
Dave PIPER@CCGMAIL.NET One of our wonderful memories.
Dear Walt and family, I am deeply saddened by the loss of your beloved Weeze. I am grateful to have known her “sparkling blue eyes”, seen her frequent smile and experience her ready warmth. Louise was consistently kind and always interested in others. And the two of you shared a rare relationship, one that started so early in your lives and bloom...
Ginger Pollock The 3 Pollock men & their loves. This was a special moment in our lives together. RIP Louise, you will be missed beyond words❤️🙏
Many years ago, as a dinner guest of Walt and Louise, I was served Chicken Jambalaya. I raved so much about it that Louise offered me the recipe. It has since become THE special dinner request of my three now-grown children. Thanks, Louise!
Deedee Gabriel Catalina Angelica was in la la land after the baptism at St. Stephen, the Martyr church in Renton. Louise and Walt were on hand to join the liturgy.
Deedee Gabriel A boating treat on the Nestucca River in Pacific City, Oregon.
Ginger Pollock Gosh I loved Louise so much. I was so blessed to be her sister in law for so many years. I’m really going to miss you😢🙏
So many memories of great times in Pacific City. The best are of evenings Walt and Louise spent playing board games with our boys (after Walt nearly stranded us in the river with his new boat). Louise’s laughter made the room comforting and with her around nobody seemed to lose. Our boys, Kathleen and I loved it when she was around. We miss her...
I did not know Louise well, but remember that she achieved a degree of fame with BPA staff when in her remarks to the hundreds of people gathered to recognize Walt's departure from BPA, she solemnly noted that she regretted that he would no longer be bringing home all those free government pens. That took character.
We had the good fortune to be neighbors of Walt & Weeze's in Portland. They were the first friends we made in Oregon. They generously shared their knowledge of the NW and invited us to learn the fun of crabbing in the rain in Pacific City. What a terrific pair! They inspired us to always lead with love and laughter. So kind and delightful to be a...
Deedee Gabriel At Redmond High after Catalina's performance
Deedee Gabriel September 1996 was an exciting day for Louise and I, in our fuschia gowns getting ready for the wedding processional. It was a first for both of us and we wanted to make it memorable and special for Jim and Myriam. Louise was cool as a cucumber as she alleviated my anxieties in making the occasion perfect! Just look at that engaging smile!
Jen Conjerti Weeze will always have a special place in my heart ! She was such a beautiful spirit and I will always have her and Walt to thank for showing me Kauai and being my second family and sharing many , many special moments of my life with her .Love you Weeze you will forever be in my heart ❤️
I'm so sad. She was warm, generous, funny. She never met a stranger but was open, friendly, and so easy to talk to. From the very first I felt like I had known her all my life. Dear Walt and Family: I am very saddened to learn of the passing of Louise. She was a beautiful, considerate person with a kind and gentle soul. Ardine & Bill Thompson Two special friends in Kauai!
Our favorite memories of our neighbor Louise, besides her friendliness, kindness and ever-present smile, are of the condominium home she made so beautiful. Larry & Ila Larson It has taken too long to post our thoughts in this wonderful tribute to Weeze’s life. We first met Walt and Weeze in the late 70’s and it was immediately obvious how perfectly matched they were and the deep devotion they held for each other and their wonderful family. As so many have already spoken, Louise left a deep hole in the hearts of many, many close friends. We are proud to have been a member of that group who admired and loved her. We will hold many wonderful memories of our times together ( pic of Pollocks turn to make dinner in Provence) and will miss her as we join with the rest of her friends in helping Walt and family adjust to life without beautiful, loving Louise at their side. Larry & Ila Larson
Today I am sure Louise visited me. I was outside on this beautiful Easter Day walking my dog Lucy. I happened to be on a wonderful phone call with her son Jim (my nephew), when I noticed a garden snake moving thru the grass. It was beautiful, about 2 feet long and passed graciously as I stood there observing it move into the thick foliage. I to...
Jessica Sienkiewicz There are smiles, and then there are smiles. I recall, in a way that feels like yesterday, the smile of Weeze. It wasn’t just her mouth moving upwards. Her smile included her eyes, her shoulders, her hands and her sweet voice. It was genuine and full of gratitude for whatever joy she was feeling. That smile was contagious to all those around her. She had a wonderful knack of compassion, quietly meeting the needs of those around her. I feel so lucky to have spent my youth in her presence. She had some pretty great dance moves too.
Many of my memories of Louise came from the years' we worked together at Century West Engineering. Louise was: Always positive and upbeat. Always smiled (great smiled ). Always cared for others. Always happy to see you. Always a friend. Always listened. Always professional and could find a solution to any issue. Always made the rest of us better pe...
Walt and Weeze were the greatest partnership I have ever witnessed. They were a package deal. Had you the great good fortune of working with Walt, you had the benefit of "the team" of Walt and Weeze. Career joy! Weeze was as much a consultant to me on occassions as was Walt. "Let me run this by Weeze. We'll get back to you." And viola! Sage ...
Walt and Family I had the good fortune of chatting with Louise at several Bonneville events. She was savvy to the woes of the Bonneville family and responded with a wink. Louise clearly touched so many people in her life. My condolences to the family
We didn't know Louise in her snake-handling and wine-making days, but met the Pollocks when they joined our "vertical community" at Legends. Weeze was a pleasure to be around; she brought an aura of joy by just walking into the lobby. Walt means so much to me, and through him I had the fortune to meet Weeze. I wish I had been able to know her better. I came around late in her life, but the times we met were precious. Her spirit was always so evident and strong, and even though we didn't really speak, her sparkle and her smile were infectious, and the love between Walt and Weeze ...

Connie Erickson The special couple at Walt’s retirement party. So blessed to have worked with Walt..because Weeze was in the package. We are so blessed to have them in our lives..treated you like family from day one. We loved Weeze’s smile..could light up a room and the people in it. Weeze was beautiful..inside and out..and will be so missed. She will always be in our hearts with love. Richard and Connie Erickson
Stephen Holland Miss afternoon visits with Louise & Walt - Lee-ann & Steve
We didn't know Louise in her snake handling and wine-making days, but were fortunate to be neighbors of the Pollocks when they moved into our "vertical neighborhood" at Legends. Memories of Louise – Maggie and Mike Clement We met Louise and Walt while working at Naval Reactors in Washington in the 1960s. The men went to cl...
I knew Louise as the little blonde preschool girl who lived in the house behind our's on 44th Street in Vancouver, Washington. Our mothers had a gate in the back yards to make coffee get-togethers easier. I re-encountered Louise many years later at a wedding and was charmed at how gracious she and Walt were. They carried an old photo of Louise and ...
