Peter Partridge As little kids our Dad nicknamed all four of his children, his first son, Jim or Jamie, was nicknamed "Jaysh" (combining James with Hamish), second son Pete was nicknamed "Luke Maglook", then Gordy was nicknamed "Scoogenheimer" or just "Scoogs", and then Patti became "McGinty" for no known rhyme or reason. Anyway, "Scoogs" stuck and became a family term of endearment for our Gordy. When we lost Scoogs on October 4th this year we discovered he had a secret life, as a friend -or life support- for literally hundreds of people who contacted us through a flood of condolences, stories, pictures and memories. Many of these mourners were Gordy's friends we, as the family, hadn't known of - people from all over, including overseas. All were heartbroken to learn of his passing. He was, simply, very much loved. He was my little brother, our family joker, rock star, disc jockey, film performer, concert goer, raconteur of bus driver tales and crazy uncle to his siblings' kids. He radiated joy. I'll miss Scoogs.

Where do I begin>>>?? Gordy was a great friend who really truly cared about everyone. Whenever the weather would be extreme in my area, despite Gordy living on the other side of the continent , he would always email me, or message me, or facebook me and check in to see how my family was doing. When hurricane Matthew came up the East Coast I remembe...

OMG! What a shock! You don't know what you've got until it's gone! Gordy Partridge was so "Alive" on Facebook. I teased him that he should rename it "Gordybook", lol...I was so happy to reconnect with him after 32 years. We met at Eaton's, when Coquitlam Shopping Centre opened in the Fall of 1979. He was my Supervisor, in Sporting Goods. Always a ...

Like a comet Blazing across the evening sky Like a rainbow Fading in the twinkling of an eye Shiny and sparkly and splendidly bright Here one day Gone one night Like the loss of sunlight on a cloudy afternoon Gone too soon My memories of this brilliant man will last forever. I am so grateful I got to have a visit this past July. Rest in peace, my ...

So very heartbroken to hear about the loss of our dear friend. I will miss his silly sense of humor and getting together with "the gang" for coffee and lunch. We would chat just about everyday and he would send me silly little "wake up calls" and tease me about still working as he was retired. One year we all had a bad flu and a package arrived and...

Patti Ricketts Tanned Gordy in Maui- he loved Logan too

Gordy was my big brother, protector, friend, entertainer and confidant. My earliest childhood memories are of Gordy and I hiding away and going to lands of make believe. Gordy could talk in comical voices to tell me stories. My dolls became Maxilla Gorilla, Yacky Doodle, and his announcer voice kept me in stitches. Gordy defended me when I was naug...

I will miss seeing the videos and quotes Gordy posted on his Facebook pages. I know that he is watching over all of us from his new home in heaven. It was a honour to know you Gordy. RIP

So many years of memories...so many! I recall the many times Gordy visited our family home, both my parents loved him, and he was the epitome of a super cool, super kind, super polite man and he was so much fun. Forever missed...never forgotten. <3 Lou Fox

My name is Scott Pinson, from Marion, Illinois, USA. Gordy and I have known each other through on-line celebrity and derivative clubs, facebook & e-mail. I would say for nearly 16 years or more. We spoke on the phone some years ago. He always had funny posts and warm-hearted wishes for all for us all. His Christmas cards were so appreciated as...

Lynda Dunal Gordy was my special birthday cousin and he never forgot to send me a card - usually something unique with an obscure photo of me on it. He had a great sense of humour and I remember getting on one of his buses when we lived in Vancouver and he would introduce me to the whole bus! What a lovely guy - we are so very sad to lose him way too soon. We are holding memories of him close. Sending our love and condolences to Patti, Pete and Jim and all their families ?? Lynda

Gordy was my best friend . We shared messages, meals, walks by the ocean or hours just hanging out almost every day. Well, that was when he wasn't on Facebook or the phone, keeping in touch with his many many dear friends. I will miss a morning text, "Brekkie?" Or "Wanna go down to the benches?"... or an unexpected present left at my door from a ...

Patti Ricketts From Jacquie Bell: After almost 40 years of love and friendship there are no words to describe the loss for me and my family. The thoughts are fresh, the memories are deep and the love is forever...... Gordy had a special spot in his heart for each and everyone he touched. His family and friends know how truly special he was and he will live forever in our thoughts and memories.

Jim Partridge It has taken me till now to post on this site. My soul is bruised and my heart is aching. Gordy was a brother, friend, confidante, jokster, story teller, and like me, car loving beatlemaniac whose passion for love and life was evident on a daily basis. He suffered with me as a Canucks fan but never wavered in his support. He loved his brushes with famous people he had worked with on the movie set or had encountered on the street. He was an awesome Uncle who entertained and mentored my kids and was always the one with the thoughtful unique gifts at Christmas. He also never forgot a gift for our dog even though we often forgot his cat(s). He will be remembered for his generous heart, and friendship to his legion of friends and family. God Speed sweet Bro! R.I.P.

Bruce Carabine Gordy loved practical jokes. When I lived with him on Highland Drive, I hurt my back and needed bed rest on a hard bed. Norm and Gordy removed the door from my room and put it under my mattress to make it firmer. Gordy went out and bought me a gold fish, (Frank) to Cheer me up while I got better. Unfortunately the fish passed away that very night. The next day for lunch Gordy and Norm served me a sandwich with Frank in the middle of it. We laughed so hard tears were streaming down my face. Perhaps his humour wasn't alway PC but he sure could make us all laugh!

Uncle Gordy... The kind of man that would do anything to see a smile. That made for a lot of fun as a kid. He would sing to us, take us for a ride in is latest hot rod, speak to us in cartoon voices or he would show up to family dinner in a halloween costume... just for kicks. I was lucky enough to spend many dinners joking around with Uncle Gordy ...

Bruce Carabine Gordy was one of my best friends. We found each other at Carson Graham High School in the 1960's. He was the really cool guy who liked to talk about music. So of course we became friends. Gordy later became the manager of Leviathan and the Free Spirit Band in the early 1970's. Gordy contributed so much to the Vancouver Music Scene during that time. As a room mate he was hilarious. I have great memories of staying up late and singing tunes like Suite Judy Blue Eyes by CSN&Y. He loved the big harmonies. Gordy was very much a renaissance man. He loved to dabble in every area of the arts. Music, poetry, literature and art were all interests. I will never forget the time he had a meeting with some music bigwig downtown and the heel fell off of his black Beatle boot. He was so upset as the boots were less than a year old. He went into the Hudson's Bay Company and complained and the sales clerk brought new boots. He felt so bad when returning the damaged boot to see Eatons label inside.

Barb Loma Gordy was an amazing, generous, gentle soul. Even though he lived on the other side of the country, that did not dilute the friendship nor the connection. I will miss all his music posts on facebook-its scary how similar our tastes were. He was always bringing joy and laughter to everyone. Baby Quatchi will be much missed.
