All the world’s a stage, And all the men and women are merely players; They have their exits and their entrances; And in his lifetime a man will play many parts. (from Shakespeare’s As You like It, as recited to his children - many a time)

Cooksey Family Dad created a wonderful experience and memory for Anne's mother-in-law, Emma Lapins, a Latvian citizen, during a visit to his home in Tobago. When Dad learned that Latvia (known as Courland at that time) had colonized Tobago in the mid-1600s, he insisted that Emma come see her "home". He had the biggest smile when the Latvian flag was flying on his property. The trip included a visit to the Courland Monument, that was built in 1976 to honor the early settlers.

Cooksey Family Dad, Jon and Anne. He was so happy to be settled back in his home after 3+ years in a skilled nursing facility. Although his stay at home was less than 3 months, he enjoyed each day reading the newspaper, going outside to look at the flowers and spot wildlife across the canal.
John Samet I have many fond memories of Jon. I worked with him, Umit Aker, and Yavuz Aykent at St. Mary's Hosp. in Clayton. His work, and expansion Dr Massie's book on EKG's into a book on Vectorcardiography was impressive. My time spent working and talking with him gave me helpful insights in to the realities of "Big Barnes" . I appreciated his knowledge ,candor, and am especially grateful to him for suggesting that I become a member of American College of Cardiology. That proved to be very worth while intellectually. I will miss him, as I know his family does. He was a "patient centered doctor" ,when there are becoming fewer of those. JMS
