Join MemoriesCris Myhre Mom was so beautiful on her wedding day to my dad, Jim Poulsen. Also in this photo is her mom and dad, Bill and Blanche Sawka, and her brother Ken Sawka - look at his great smile! I grew up in a beautiful and happy home. Mom was a wonderful mother. I have so many memories of her driving me to pottery class, riding lessons, theatre rehearsals - and she was happy to do so. She was always so supportive of our interests.
Brad Poulsen I've known Bonnie all my life.

Jay Rahal Preparing another gourmet meal Bonnie, Pat (Klapstock) and Jay. What a wonderful 12 years we had in Kamloops...Bonnie was right in the middle of it all. We tried bowling, curling, golf and skiing and of course bridge...none of which we excelled at, but we had such fun. Bonnie was always ready for action and her infectious laugh and enthusiasm kept us going. RIP my dear, dear friends Bonnie and Pat.
Jay Rahal We always had occasion for a party and Bonnie's 40th was no exception. Doreen and Vic Edwards on either side and Joe Hutton on the left.

Lucas Poulsen I remember when I was 11 and visited the care home, I played one of her favorite songs for her Hound Dog by Elvis Presley. This is important to me because I got to make Grandma Bonnie happy I felt her love. Even at the end of life Grandma Bonnie was always fun and playful constantly bringing smilies to all around her. When I think of Grandma Bonnie I remember when she gave me a hug I felt her heart pouring out to me. Grandma Bonnie, I hope you know how much I love you.
Cris Myhre John and Bonnie had wonderful adventures together.
Cris Myhre Mom was my 'Best Lady' at my wedding. And my best friend.
Sheri Poulsen Dear Bonnie, You were beautiful both inside and out... Thank you for teaching us all more about how to receive and give love...right up to the end of your blessed life. I was lucky to call you my Mother-in-law and the Grandma of our children. Love you always...To heaven and back! Sheri
Brad Poulsen Mom loved visiting -- here the occasion is her granddaughter Sophia Poulsen's baptism.
Cris Myhre Mom's 70th birthday - what a wonderful group of friends! They surprised her with a fabulous trip to Vegas, staying in an amazing suite in Caesar's Palace. Then Ken, Brie and I surprised her by showing up too. I still remember sneaking up on her in the lobby with a bottle of champagne in my hand. She was so shocked to see me there!
Brad Poulsen On my 50th birthday my Mom flew into town with my sister Cris to surprise me at dinner--such a happy time!
Brian Keith Bonnie and my mother Myrna in Pitt Meadows at my late sister Donna (nee Keith) Gresham's house. This was a lovely day where we got to visit with Bonnie and it just so happened to be my birthday. What a treat to see these two old friends sharing such fondness for one another. Bonnie was smiling as bright as ever. Such a lovely woman she was and such a deeply adored and steadfast friend to my mom.
Sophia Poulsen We could always count on Grandma Bonnie for a smile. Even at the end of her life, we knew she was smiling inside, because she would be with God. We miss her very much, however I hope we will find comfort in knowing she is watching us from heaven. I remember every time we visited her, she was wearing a smile, inside or out. Even though we couldn't be with her physically toward the end of her life on Earth, I couldn't have asked for a better goodbye. We sang "You are my sunshine" and I felt close to her. I was sad after, sort of understanding for the first time that we couldn't be with her, and her life was coming to an end, but I knew that she was at peace, and I was grateful for that with every inch of my heart. Here is the drawings I drew for Grandma Bonnie the night before she passed. We love you, Grandma Bonnie.
My Mom was a wonderful friend. The basis of friendship is the ability to share joy and I never saw her keep joy to herself--her impulse was always to reach out. She received every piece of good news with easy generosity--often with a smile audible even over the phone, and the exclamation "Isn't that great!" Also, whether there was news or not, sh...
A note to Bonnie from "the other Grandma" "Bonnie, we only met a few times but we feel we know you because your spirit of kindness, joy, and fun is reflected in your son Brad and his children. If we had lived closer I'm sure we'd have played bridge because that's my game too. We'd have been "besties." We share a wonderful family. So, thank you B...
Brian Keith This is Bonnie, my mom Myrna and their good friend Betty. I'm uploading this on behalf of my mom. I'm not certain when it was taken. Bonnie was my mom's bridesmaid at her first marriage to my father Roger Keith as well as my mom's second marriage to her late husband John Pineo. I always loved when Bonnie visited us in Toronto. One of the first times was when my mom married John. Bonnie gave me a huge smile and told me she'd known my mom since before I was born. At 14 years old that seemed like a lifetime to me. Bonnie was so genuine and full of life, laughter and smiles and she felt like family instantly.
Connie Sawka A snappy dresser even from a very young age. Bonnie with cousin Gail in stroller.
Connie Sawka From the moment they set eyes on her, Bonnie was loved and adored by her parents. The apple of her father's eye, visits and Sunday phone calls brought immense joy to her parents.

Connie Sawka Bonnie loved to laugh! This picture of Cris and Bonnie is so joyful. How can you keep from smiling back?
Connie Sawka Grampa's 80th in Jasper. Bonnie loved to cook and she loved to entertain. I remember Bonnie making an 8 hour roast for the occasion. The biggest secret to making this roast was no peeking or checking before the time was up. Imagine keeping all her helpers from 'just checking'! The pot remained unopened and the end result was a roast that was tender and juicy. Over the years there were numerous delicious recipe exchanges and many wonderful meals at Bonnie's table.
Gail Sumanik Bonnie and I flew to Winnipeg to visit Carol. It wasn't Las Vegas but we had a great time!! (2007)

Even though we were first cousins, I didn't know Bonnie well. I met her almost for the first time, a number of years ago at my Dad's 90th birthday celebration in Tsawwassen. She and John were kind enough to join us. I am learning from all the posts on this site that she loved life and loved to laugh and have a good time. I hope that all these w...
Don Myhre Christmas in Vegas 2004
Don Myhre Vegas 2007 - Bride and Mother of the Bride having fun as always - Its Vegas baby!
Don Myhre Bonnie was the Queen of Las Vegas. Any chance, reason or excuse to get there would be considered. The slot machine ladies at Circus Circus knew her by name. Stories of margaritas being poured into slot machines to "loosen them up" are still spoke of in that town. I loved hearing her stories of seeing Elvis perform in Vegas and the Rat Pack. She was my wife Cristine's best friend - more than a mom and more than my mother in law. She adored her two kids - and grandkids - and I was her "favorite son-in-law". As her only son-in-law it was our running joke and got a giggle every time. Still does. Miss you Bonnie.
