From Liv & Wynne: Our favorite memories of Uncle Bob are at the lake house. Uncle Bob would be sitting on the couch and we would come over and he would tickle us or give us a fist bump. He also would let us drive the boat with him! It was so much fun!!

Brooke Gilbert When I think of Uncle Bob, I think of how generous he was with his time, and I think of the Georgia Bulldogs. Uncle Bob was always helping, working, doing, teaching, fixing, grilling, something for someone. He volunteered to help Grant and I renovate our house. It was his idea to open up our living room, and I am so glad we listened to him because it was the right decision. He spent weeks helping us bring our vision to fruition and transformed our house into a home. We are forever grateful for this priceless gift. My fondest memories of him are at the lake house. As a kid, Uncle Bob would take us inner tubing, and he would do his best to throw us off! Eventually, one of us would flip over and skip across the lake, legs dangling, hair flying. Some of my best bruises are from inner tubing! Later, he would snag me as I was passing by and give me a “knuckle sandwich”. He was great at picking on me like I was his baby sister. As I grew to be an adult (and after precious Jenna came along), Uncle Bob was a little softer, sweeter. It has been so endearing to see the same man I knew as a child, play with my children and tickle them and snuggle with them. My girls and Brooks loved Uncle Bob and he loved them back. I will forever cherish our boat rides. He would teach my girls how to drive the boat and they LOVED it! He understood that time was precious and that our days are numbered; he lived out the rest of his life depositing time into each one of us, to love us and to be helpful. If we were wise, we would apply this to our own lives. I am so grateful that God gave us many more years than we ever expected. Uncle Bob made sure to make his days count one day at a time. I love you Uncle Bob and will always miss you! Go Dawgs!

Uncle Bob was not afraid to tell it like it was or call people out on their stuff which will always be something I truly admired him for. He was honest, real and exactly what you saw is what you got. He wasn’t afraid of being exactly who he was and that’s something that doesn’t come easy for everyone. Even with his comments that sometimes could be...
