Skymorials Editorial Agatha Mary Clarissa Miller was born on 15 September 1890 into a comfortably well off middle class family. What made her upbringing unusual, even for its time, was that she was home schooled largely by her father, an American.

1912

Skymorials Editorial Agatha met Archie Christie, a qualified aviator who had applied to join the Royal Flying Corps. Their courtship was a whirlwind affair - they married on Christmas Eve 1914 but would soon divorce in 1928.

1920

Skymorials Editorial Agatha Christie published her first novel, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, in 1920, and went on to become one of the most famous writers in history,

1930

Skymorials Editorial In 1930, she married archeologist Sir Max Mallowan and accompanied him on expeditions to the Middle East, which became the setting for many of her novels.

1976

Skymorials Editorial Dame Agatha Christie died on 12 January 1976 at age 85 from natural causes at her home Winterbrook House which was located in Winterbrook, Wallingford, Oxfordshire.
